SOVIET FLIERS KILLED
CRASH AT ARCHANGEL MEMBERS OF SEARCH PARTY LONDON, May 20 Whilo flying home from Rudolf Island after a vain search for the Soviet pilot Levanevski, who disappeared with his crow on a flight to America from Moscow, an aeroplane caught fire and crashed, took off again, and again crashed into the river at Archangel, says the Moscow correspondent of the News Chronicle. Four of the crew of 16 were killed, including the oldest Arctic pilot, M. Babushkin, who was associated with M. Papanin's scientific party on an icefloe in the Arctic. This brings the death roll to 24 in attempts to conquer the North Pole.
