WINTER PROGRAMME ' ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT Members of the Athenian Club and their friends fittingly celebrated the advent of cold weather with an entertainment entitled "A Winter's Night," on Saturday. The programme had been arranged by the club president, Mr. Harry Wilkins, and Mrs. Wilkins, who acted as host and hostess for the occasion. The opening scene depicted a realistic snow storm with the conventional snow man, and was completed by a skating dance excellently performed by Miss Mardi Brook. Other artists who provided a most enjoyable and wellbalanced programme were:—Miss Connie Piper, Airs. Nigel White, Mr. Lesclie Russell and Professor Maxwell Walker. The accompanists were Miss Elva Carr and .Miss N. Phillips. Favours which were distributed during the evening included white posies for the ladies and a miniature swan filled with "snowballs." Ice cream was also served. The evening ended with the performance of a snow dance.
