May 21 In the semi-finals of tho women's singles yesterday Mrs. Helen Wills Moody (United Stnlcs) beat Miss Mary Striven (British hardcourt champion), O —2, 5—7;. (I —Miss D Lamb again beat Miss Nancy v>>*nne (Australian champion). t»—-T, 7—5. In the final Mrs. Wills Moody beat Miss Lamb, °~C 'E. Malfroy. partnered by Kho Sin Kie and' Miss Nuthall, won the semi-finals or (be men's and mixed doubles respectively. The second set, against ITovell and Miss Pierce,v was a "marathon of 32 games ( 'i7* , tl.e final of the men's doubles to-day Lee and Sherwood beat Malfroy and Kho c:., ]<i,. g—(i. 7—5. The final of the mixed doubles'went to Olliff and Mrs Nutter who beat Malfroy and Miss Nuthall, 2—o, (>—4, '"Tn'u'ie semi-final of the women's doubles Mrs Hopman and Miss Stevenson beat Mesdiimes King and Pittninn. s—l,5 —1, o—2. the final was won by Misses Wynne and Coyne, who defeated Mrs. Hopman and Miss StevenS °olliff bent Fiiby in the final of the men's singles, 2 —o. o—o0 —0 S.
