SATURDAY'S FIXTURES REPRESENTATIVE CONTEST CAMBRIDGE BEATS PUTARURU Rugby competitions were continued in country centres of tho Auckland Province on Saturday afternoon. Cambridge defeated Putaruru in a representative match by 14 points to nil. In a game at Thames an American player made his appearance and scored the winning try for his team. Cambridge—Cambridge played its first representative match of tho season, and in a keen, fast game defeated Putaruru by 14 points to nil. Both sets of backs played well, ilaworth, tho L'ambridgo fullback, and Peake, at centre, were both outstanding, while Childs, Lory and Mate were Putaruru's best backs. The visiting pack was not as fit as the home forwards, who all played well. For Cambridge, Peakc's try was converted by Hewitt, who also kicked three penalties.
