WIRING IN PROGRESS ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT DELAYS IN ENGLAND The Auckland Transport Board is erecting the wiring for the trolley-bus service which will serve the Farmers' Trading Company, Limited, by a circuit embracing portions of Wyndham, Hobson, Victoria and Queen Streets. The policy has been to eliminate the. use of poles where possible, substituting hooks from buildings to carry the cross-wires. The hooka have all been fixed and the necessary poles erected, the number of these being surprisingly small. _ The wiring process is not being pushed rapidly, it being considered a spare-time job only for the gang, as it seems unlikely that the. trolley-buses with their electrical equipment wil] be ready for several months. The bodies for the buses were in an advanced stage of construction when they were destroyed in premises of D.S.C. and Cousins. Limited, by the big fire in Victoria Quadrant a week ago. However, within a day or so work was started on fresh bodies in the company's premises elsewhere. The chassis of the buses have been constructed in England, but munition production needs have held up the delivery of the electrical equipment with which they are to be fitted. The date of delivery of this equipment is still uncertain and the start of the service is really dependent on this factor.
