THE NATIONAL PARTY
THREE NEW BRANCHES <• Now branches of the New Zealand, National Party were formed at Oratia, Birkenhead and Birkdale last week, and committees set up. All three were attended by enthusiastic supporters of the party. Mr. R. H. Marryatt presided over the meeting at Oratia, at which addresses were given by Mr. J. T. Molloy, Auckland divisional organiser, and Mr. T. A. Bishop, secretary to" the Auckland Suburbs electorate committee. Mr. Marryatt was elected chairman of the local committee. The Birkenhead meeting was presided over by Mr. J. E. Close, and that at Birkdale T. M. Shepherd. Both meetings were addressed by Mr. T. G. Wilkes, chief organiser of the party. Mr. N.""Stewart was elected chairman of Birkenhead branch, and Mr. T. M. Shepherd chairman or the Birkdale branch.
