PLANTERS' WARNING
EMPLOYMENT IN MALAYA RECRUITMENT FROM DOMINION [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON, Saturday A warning to young New Zealanders concerning recruitment for rubber plantations in Malaya has been issued by a London society of planters through the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. The Minister referred Yesterday to a letter addressed to the lligh Commissioner for New Zealand in London, Mr. W. J. Jordan, from the Incorporated Society of Planters, London, stating that it had been brought to the notice of the society's quarters in Kuala Lumpur that a certain group of rubber companies were recruiting new young planters from New Zealand. "The society issues a warning to the peoplo in New Zealand that before accepting positions as rubber planters in Malaya they should ascertain that they will receivo adequate salaries,' etc.," said Mr. Sullivan. "In this connection the society is in a position to supply information as to the type of contract which planters aro advised to tako up. The full address of the Incorporated Society of Planters can bo obtained on application to the Department of Industries and Commerce, Wellington."
