CHALLENGE CUP . MATCH REQUEST 1 FROM CANTERBURY INTER-ISLAND CONTEST An application from the Canterbury Rugby League for a game against Auckland, probably for the Northern Union Challenge Cup, was received at last meeting of the Auckland llugby League. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said he would be pleased, to see a Canterbury team play in Auckland, but the match could not be played until after the return of the New Zealand team from Australia. • In connection with representative fixtures, it was decided ■to seek permission to play a match between Auckland and the New Zealand team on the latter's immediate return from Australia. The Richmond Club advisfjd that its new club house, just erected at Grey Lynn Park, would be opened on June 4. Permission was granted to the Richmond Club to play a game against South Auckland on that date. It was decided to express appreciation to Mr. J. F. W„ Dickson, one of the vice-presi-dents, for a donation of two gold medals. Mr. Dickson is to be asked for any conditions he desires imposed regarding the awards. ilr. R. Doble, delegate to the New Zea land League, ( advised that a fully representative trial match will be played as a curtain raiser to the North v. South Island matct at Carlaw Park on Saturday week. The transfer of S. Watene. from Manukat to Newton seniors was approved.
