GIRLS' LIFE BRIGADE

FAREWELL TO ORGANISER AUCKLAND BATTALION RALLY Nearly 300 girls and 50 officers of the Auckland battalion of the Girls' Life Brigade assembled at the Baptist Hall last night to say farewell to Major E. F. Blenkinsop, the field organiser, who will leave for England on Friday. After the guest of honour had inspected the battalion she was welcomed bv the chairman, Miss D. Earle, and presented with a bouquet. Mrs. A. Hodge, the vice-president, also received flowers. Those on the platform were:—Major Blenkinsop, Mrs. A. Hodge, Miss Earle, the Auckland commandant, Mrs. 11.

Dalgleish (Punedin), Mrs. L. B. Busfield, Mrs. Clenfield (London), Mrs. G. Green and Miss F. Green. Among the officers present were: — Miss L. Busfield (Dominion secretary). Adjutant L. Taylor and Lieutenant R. Dawson (battalion secretary). Musical items, dances and drills were presented by the different battalions. Mr. R. Barker was the accompanist. Major Blenkinsop was presented with n mottled totara bowl from the Dominion Battalion, and a kauri clock with a kiwi on top from the Auckland battalion.
