TECHNICAL SCHOOL WORK CONFERENCE OF TEACHERS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS WELLINGTON, Tuesday The annual conference of the Technical School Teachers' Association was opened to-day. The functions of technical colleges were covered by Mr. L. R. R. Denny in his presidential address, and art and education formed the subject of an important section of it. He suggested that the present need was a functional approach to art, a return to the practical arts and crafts to learn from them the essential relations of art to social life and progress.
