WOMEN'S DIVISION

Hoteo. —A very successful and useful rear was reported at the annual meeting of the Hotco branch. Bouquets were presented to Miss Coates and Miss Stevenson in appreciation of their services; Mrs. Stevenson received a crystal bowl. The officers elected were: — President, Mrs. H. Coates; vice-presidents, Mesdames Levet and L. Keith; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Stevenson; committee, Mesdames Cleasby, F. Harding, C. Harding. Snowden and Merton. .Aria. —A very successful year was reported at the fourth annual meeting of the Aria branch. A vote of thanks and appreciation was accorded the president, Mrs. J. A. Thomson, who did not seek re-election. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. J. ]3. Woods; vice-presidents, Mesdames 11. W. Moore, J. A. Thomson; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. It. Ash: advisory board, ' Mesdames Woods, Sharpe, Thomson; committee, Mesdames Adam, Taylor, Telfer, PeeveSmith, Fritz Williams, Itutherford, Miss Cover. Suggestions and ideas for tho forthcoming year were discussed. It was proposed to form a study group in connection with the W.E.A. Otorohanga.—Mrs. W. Pve, of Wliawharua, presided over the Otorohanga monthly meeting, at which there was an unusually large attendance. Mrs. C. K. Harty was appointed to take charge of the exchange table. Mr. F. W. G. Johnson gave a lecture on firstaid methods. Mrs. Buckland and Mrs. Harty offered prizes for the "gardening' table." Flowers will bo exhibited at each future meeting. Junior Branch. —The annual meeting of the junior branch followed. Results of elections were: —President, Miss K. Lurman; vice-presidents, Misses Lord and S. Smith; secretary and treasurer, Miss H. Lurman. The monthly competition for the best apron was won by Miss K. Lurman, while Miss E. Lurman was second. Mrs. Auckland was judge. To Kohanga.—.Mrs. H. M. Frost presided at the monthly meeting. Mesdames Frost, Lawsou and Ingram, and Misses M. Parve.v and i. and J). Ingram won the prizes for the best attendance. The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs. H. M. Frost; vice-presi-dents. Mrs. F. Hagen and Mrs. Ingram; secretary. Mrs. S. Parve.v; treasurer, Miss I. Ingrain. Piopio.'— I The Piopio branch of tho Women's Division held their annual meeting recently. Phe president, Mrs. Battley, presided. The election of offieers resulted:—President, Mrs. C. A. Battley; vice-presidents, Mesdames C. I<\ Johnston, H. Voyce, V. R. Smith; secretary, Mrs. A. H. 31 orris; treasurer, Mrs. P. C. Tebbutt; committee, Mesdames Carrel, F. Cocking, Coyle-Cullen, C. Lowe, Nelson, Higginson, Sundvick, Williams; advisory committee, Mesdames C. Jackson, Cullen; delegates to provincial executive, Mesdames Morris and Cocking. At the conclusion of the luncheon held in the rest room, Mrs. Evans, of Otautau (Southland), gave an interesting account of the activities of tlie Southland executive. Later the Hoteo North. —Mrs. Hi Coates presided at the monthly meeting. Money was granted to the housekeeping fund ■and the. Community Chest.
