PRICE OF SCHEELITE
UNPAYABLE LEVEL EFFECT ON THE INDUSTRY [bt TELEGRAPH OWN correspondent] DUNEDIN. Monday The scheelite industry at the head of Lake Wakatipu has had another setback on account of the abnormal decline in the price of the mineral. With the price up to £SOO a ton for ore some months ago, tho industry was a highly-profitable one, but the price has now slumped to £l4O a ton, which is not payable under present labour conditions. It will have the effect of throwing several men out of work.
