COUNTRY BRANCHES ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD ELECTION OF OFFICERS The animal meeting of the Thames branch of the Plunket Society was held last week. It was stated in the report that the committee had donated ten guineas for the % new section of the Auckland Karitane Hospital in addition to the annual donation of £5 to the ordinary funds of the hospital. The sum of £7 16s was collected for the proposed memorial to the late Miss N. Pattrick, former director of Plunket nursing in New Zealand. It was also stated that the work of the sub-branch had been well maintained and the finances were satisfactory. The balance sheet showed assets to be £1067. The secretary, Mrs. D. Mackay, tendered her resignation after twelve years in office. It was decided to make her a life member. The president, Mrs. M. Liggins, presented Mrs. Mackay with a casserole dish in a silver stand from the past and present members of the committee. The following officers were elected:— President, Mrs. M. Liggins; vice-presi-dents, Mrs. F. S. Miller, Mrs. J. B. Liggins, Mrs. 0. Hethprington and Mrs. D. Mackay; honorary secretary, Mrs. A. F. Beck; honorary treasurer, Mrs. C. H. Poulgrain; executive, the office-bearers and Mesdames Purnell, E. Newman, McCarroll and Cordes. Mrs. W. Cropp was elected an associate member of the committee. OHATJPO BRANCH There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Ohaupo branch. A report of the year's activities was given by the secretary, Mrs. E. Wiley, and a satisfactory position was shown in the balance sheet. The resignation of Mrs. Wiley, who has been secretary and treasurer for eight years, was accepted with regret. The'followine officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. S. Reid; president, Mrs. F. Ryburn; vice-presidents, Mesdames G. Tarr, G. Hogan and E. Sanson; committee. Mesdames V. Karl, A. S. Karl, F. Haldane, Beaglehole, Ralph, McKey, C. K. Edwards, T. Dynes, Fletctier and Wiley.
