FINANCES IMPROVE

OTAHUHU BOROUGH REPORT A report on the finances of the Otnhuhu borough was presented at the council meeting last night by the town clerk, Mr. 11. W. F. Wood. It stated that the position of the general account was very satisfactory in view of the fact that, although it was £1902 greater than at the commencement of the financial year, £I7OO had been taken from revenue to purchase the municipal block site, and more than £6744 -had been expended on works from the same source. The Mayor, Mr. C. H. Potrie, M.P., who has been re-elected unopposed, said that looking back over tho past three years he was more than pleased with the position, especially when recognising the amounts spent in providing employment for men.
