NEW ZEALAND SHEEP
IMPORTS TO AUSTRALIA INFERIOR QUALITY ALLEGED LEGISLATIVE ACTION SOUGHT (Received May •8, 5.5 p.m.) CANBERRA. May 8 Concerned at the "continued heavy importation of sheep from New Zealand which are considered to be of inferior quality," the Australian Society of Breeders of British Sheep asks for legislative action to prohibit the importation of sheep from New Zealand unless accompanied by authoritative reports and export certificates. The society also asks for a duty of £2 a head on all sheep without 6uch certificates.
