IMPORTANT DECISIONS ? EFFECT ON THE DOLLAR POSSIBLE DEVALUATION (Received May 5, 1.10 a.m.) PARIS, May 4 The Cabinet held a surprise meeting at 8.30 a.m. after which it was announced that important decisions had reached regarding .the franc, and the. national defence. loaiL It is understood the Cabinet meeting was the sequel to monetary .conversations in Paris, London and Washington, leading, to reports •of the realignment of the British, American and French currencies, including the fixing of the franc At 170 and the devaluation of the dollar.
