FAULT NEAR ARAPUNI
POWER LINE AFFECTED LIGHTS FLICKER IN CITY One of the main high tension power lines between Arapuni and Penrose developed a fault last night and went out of commission. The Auckland power supply was not affected except for two momentary interruptions which occurred at 7.15 and 7.35 p.m. when the lights throughout the city were observed to flicker. The load to Auckland was carried by the two remaining lines. These were sufficient and no interference with the supply was expected. A flash had been seen in the neighbouring hills and the patrols, which would not be sent out until daylight, would be able to locate the fault without difficulty.
