MATTER OF PUBLIC DUTY REMARKS OF CHIEF JUSTICE [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON. "Wednesday "Business men must understand that jury service is a public duty, and that Tthey must be willing to put up with a little inconvenience "-to enable employees who are called to give their services as jurymen," said tho Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, when dismissing several applications for exemption received from jurymen at the Supreme Court at Hamilton. His Honor granted several applications. In two cases one of two men employed in the same business was exempted. Addressing an employer later in the 'day, His Honor said employers must facilitate in every possible way tbe service of employees on juries and in the administration of justice. It must be understood, said His Honor, that exemptions from jury service could .not be lightly made.
