CIVIC CENTRE
Sir, —Mr. Middleton has voiced the opinion of many thousands of ratepayers in his plea for a civic block worthy of the city. Perhaps the most outstanding nefd is for a municipal theatre. The present accommodation at the Town Hall is hopelessly antiquated and inadequate for the nefcds of our local musical and dramatic societies. I think that in the coming municipal elections the candidate or party wluch supports a decent municipal theatre will gain many non-political votes. Akakiy Aklevitch Basmatskin.
