MOUNT ROSKILL AFFAIRS
ROAD BOARD MEETING A wport from the touring manager of the Automobile Association (Auckland), Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, regarding the dangerous corner at the intersection of Mount Albert and Dominion Roads, came before the Mount Roskill Road Board at. a meeting held this week. The chairman, Mr. C. M. McCulloch, presided. The letter was referred to the Works Committee of the incoming board, with a recommendation that suitable signs be erected by the Automobile Association on both sides of the two roads. It was agreed, on the recommendation of the Works Committee, to write off uncollectable water accounts, amounting^'to more than £23. Most of was stated, represented overcharges due to incorrect computations of water consumption. It was decided to turn off the water services to the beaches forthwith. The renaming of some 14 streets is to be taken in hand by the new board in June, but the present board's decision regarding the retention of certain street names, made last September, is to be adhered to. It was reported by the clerk, Mr. J. H. Reich, that the original estimate for the cost of tho recent housing survey, £IOO, had been exceeded by £6 14s 4d. An offer made by Mr. F. Livingstone to lease Seymour Park for grazing purposes was accepted.
