NEW ZEALANDER'S POST PROMINENT ENGLISH SCHOOL [from our own correspondent] LONDON, April 14 Mr. Norman Sinclair, well known in Auckland and Christchurch, has been appointed headmaster of the Royal Masonic (Senior) School, at Bushey, Hertfordshire. The 400 pupils are sons of Masons, and they all board at the school. The curriculum is modern rather than classical, and the school is universally regarded as one of the best equipped in the United Kingdom. The majority of the boys leave at 16, but those who show ability are retained and sit for scholarships to the universities. At present there are 13 old boys holding scholarships or exhibitions at Oxford and Cambridge. For the past 10 years Mr. Sinclair has been teaching at Rugby School, Warwickshire, where, for a considerable period, he has been officer commanding the Officers' Training Corps. Mr. Sinclair went up to Trinity College, Cambridge, on his arrival from New Zealand and took a first in the Modern and Mediaeval Languages Tripos. Before going to Rugby he taught at Charterhouse and Cheltenham College, where ho was in charge of modern languages.
