PAKURANGA HUNT
FIRST MEET OF SEASON
MANY SPECTATORS ATTEND GAY SCENE AT EAST TAMAKI The opening meet of the Pakuranga Hunt took place at East Tainaki on Saturday in perfect hunting weather. The recent rains had left the grass a bright green, and had softened it just enough for the utmost enjoyment of the riders. There was a very large number of followers and the many spectators watched a gay and colourful scene. The attractive costumes of the riders were J outlined against a green background dotted with darker hedges and trees, and patches of yellow gorse. The day's programme started with breakfast in the hall, after which the master, Mr. H. Bullock Webster, welcomed the visitors and members, and thanked the farmers for allowing the club to hunt over their land. The hunting resulted in two kills. After the hunt many of the members were entertained at tea at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Smith. The Vice-Regal party comprised Viscountess Galway, Major R. G. G.
