CHEW THIS OVERI Excerpts from letter received 30/4/38 from Mr. A.J.W.: "Late January, no feed so fed ensilage. Feb. 8, gave one paddock 2 strokes with Bevin Harrow when ground was very dry. Rain during month no benefit except to harrowed paddock. Came away wonderfully and cows were turned in on March 4. After only sampling the luscious feed they wont into a poor paddock amd returned at noon. Day by day they spent more and more time in good paddock. Meanwhile other paddocks were harrowed and came away. Cows have been on good feed ever since. No Eczema —less Udder tronble than ever before. The best season ever—no topdressing since last spring." These cows had the option of rich feed or poor! Obviously they could not take the good feed straight on top of poor pasture and ensilage.
