RjjiSAIL OF Z-CLASS RACE northcote regatta event Consideration of a protest resulted in the first prize in the Z clnss event at the Northcote and Birkenhead regatta being awarded to the Lyla, as tho only boat of the i:8 starters to sail the correct course, &nd the resail of the race being ordered to determine the second, third, fourth and fifth places.

The resa.il took place on Saturday afternoon in conjunction with the race held by the Takapuna Boating Club. The Lyla did not take part, being awarded the championship flag in addition to first prize. The boats started and finished off the Wharf. The weather conditions were good, with a light south westerly breeze. Tho scratch boat, Swish, led the 21 starters over the line, being followed by Trevic. Capri, Tanya and Josal, and the others very close up. A keen race eventually ensued between Swish and Tanya, the former finishing seven seconds ahead of her rival. Meola (G'/.ni) and Gypsy (8m) did not complete the course.
