PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS
Sir, —Are pedestrian street crossings going to be safe, or are they going to be dangerous? When crossing one of these safety zones in Victoria Street, Hamilton, recently, I was disgusted at the unrestricted speed of some motorists approaching these zones. These zones nave been erected for public safety! Most motorists are courteous, and slow down, or stop, for people to cross over. And more courtesy by others Would make all the difference. Some motorists even have the audacity to sound their horns at people on safety zones. And it is high time motorists woke up to their responsibilities and learned to observe and respect these zones as the medium of public safety. Jamks Fox. Taupiri.
