SHOPLIFTING CHARGES
LABOURERS REMANDED Two men appeared in the Police on Saturday, before justices of the peace, charged with theft from shops. A labourer. Ellis Ivan Ottoway, aged 18, was charged with the theft of a pair of socks, a tie. a cake of soap, a pack of cards and a bridge-scorer, valued at 8s 7d, the property of a city shop. He was remanded until Friday, bail being fixed at £SO. The theft of a pair of socks, a nailbrush, three tie-pins, two ties and a handkerchief, valued at 6s 6d, the propertv of another store, was admitted by George Dales, aged 31, labourer. He was also remanded until Friday.
