GLASS IN TRAINING GROUND BROKEN BOTTLES DISCOVERED The discovery of a number of broken glass bottles embedded under the surface of the club's training ground was made by Mr. C. J. Williams, secretary of the Manukau Rovers Rugby Football Club, when walking over the ground, which is in Rowe Street, Onehunga, adjoining the club's training pavilion. The area, about half an acre in extent, is covered with a thick surface of tar. Mr. Williams first noticed a piece of glass and closer inspection revealed the jagged bottom of a large bottle which had been driven into the earth neck downward. A number of other broken bottles isunk into the ground were found. It is stated they could possibly have caused serious injury to the club members when training. The nutter was reported to the police.
