NAPIER HOSPITAL STAFF
AFFECTED BY COMMISSION NURSES RELUCTANT TO APPLY [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] NAPIER, Monday "We wish to state that the impression we gained on our tour is that the sitting of the Royal Commission at Napier has had a detrimental effect on this hospital, inasmuch as matrons, medical superintendents, and secretaries, when questioned on this matter, stated that in conversation with various nurses they found that nurses were very reluctant to apply for positions at the Napier Hospital." This statement is contained in a report of the chairman of the Hawke's Bav Hospital Board, Mr. C. Lassen, and the Rev. R. B. Gosnell, a former member of the board, who paid a visit recently to the Danucvirke, Palmerston North, WanpanFii, Hawcra and New Plymouth hospitals.
