STUMBLE AGAINST CAE UNSEEN BY THE DRIVER WALKING AT TITIRANGI DEATH FROM HEAD INJURIES Injuries from which he died within a few mijiutes were suffered by Leonard Carleton, aged 17, of South Lynn Road, New Lynn, when lie struck his head against a passing car while walking on Titirangi Road about 3.30 p.m. yesterday. Apparently deceased, who was a son of Mr. Francis L. Carleton. tripped or stumbled and fell against the car, his head striking a mudguard. With his younger brother Oliver, Leonard Carleton was walking toward Titirangi, and they were about 400 yds from the hotel when the accident occurred. There was a lino of cars coming dovm from Titirangi, and Mr. Peter Fraser, of Grey Lynn, the driver of the car concerned, did not know that his vehicle had been involved in the accident until his attention was drawn to it by others. A nurse attended to the injured \outh and Dr. R. Warnock was called from Avondale, but he found the hoy dead. An ambulance had also been called. VEHICLE OVERTURNS COLLISION AT CAMBRIDGE DRIVER SUFFERS SEVERELY UNCONSCIOUS IN HOSPITAL [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday Severe head injuries were suffered by a middle-aged man, Mr. Thomas 13roghan, of Edgecumbe, when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the Main South Road about a quarter of a mile on the Cambridge side of St. Peter's school at about 5.45 o'clock last evening. The injured man's car, which was proceeding toward Hamilton, overturned when it came into collision with a second car driven in the opposite direction by Mr. Wilfred Bertram Russell, of Cambridge. Mr. Russell and a passenger both escaped uninjured, but both cars were extensively damaged. Air. Breghan was taken to the Wai*kato Hospital, where he was still in an unconscious condition to-day.

INTERSECTION MISHAP THREE PEOPLE INJURED CONDITION NOT SERIOUS [from oub own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Sunday Three people were injured when two motor-ears collided at the intersection of the Drury-Waiuku Road, and the Patumahoe-Waiau Pa Road, at about 8.30 o'clock last night. Mr. Edwin Turner, farm hand, of Kohekohe, Waiuku, who was accompanying Mr. Donald Muir, stock agent, of Waiuku, suffered fractuies of both collarbones. The driver of the other car, Mr. C. Hyland, of Otaua, Waiuku, was cut about the face, whilo a passenger in his car, Mr. M Douglas, of Waiuku, had one arm lacerated. The injured men were taken to the Franklin Memorial Hospital at Waiuku, where they were attended by Dr. C. E. Howden. Their condition to-day was reported to be not serious. Mr. Muir's car was proceeding from Drury to Waiuku, while Mr. Hyland was driving from Patumahoe toward Waiau Pa. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. WOMAN DROWNED BLOWN INTO WATER UNABLE TO REACH ROCKS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Saturday A drowning accident occurred yesterday afternoon at Bull Creek, on the coast, about 18 miles from Milton, when a single woman, Miss Molly Lees, a resident of High Street, Dunedin, lost her life. She was on holiday with her sister and was standing on a rock when a sudden gust of wind blew her into the water. The coast at this part is rugged and the voung woman was unable to regain the rocks. The body was recovered filter. THROWN FROM HORSE RIDER SUFFERS CONCUSSION RACE AT WAIKATO GYMKHANA [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday Thrown from the horse he was riding during a saddle trotting race at the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association's gymkhana at the Claudelands Showgrounds yesterday afternoon, an elderly man, Mr. William Moore, aged about 70, of Brockon Avenue, Frankton, suffered concussion. He was taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John ambulance. He was unconscious during the night, but his condition this morning was improving. CYCLIST IN HOSPITAL As the result of a collision last night between a motor-car and a cycle which lie was riding, James Duncan Smith, aged 24. a steward in the Northern Club, received concussion and was taken to hospital in a St. John ambulance. His condition is not serious.
