ITALIAN PRESS VIEW INFLUENCE IN EUROPE REASSURANCE TO GERMANY FOUR-POWER PLAN MOOTED (Received April 17, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 16 The Italian press under big headlines announces the end of AngloItalian tension. Signor Gayda, Italian publicist, says the agreement carries prospects of peace throughout Europe. He reassures Germany that she need not fear a weakening of the RomeBerlin axis, as proof of which Berlin has been kept informed of the negotiations throughout. The Rome correspondent of the Daily Mail says active preparations are being taken to open diplomatic conversations in Paris and Berlin for the creation of a four-Power consultative measure between Italy, Germany, Britain and France. The movement follows the good reception of the Anglo-Italian rapprochement in all European capitals.
