CARD PARTY AT OSTEND
In conjunction with the opening of the Osteiul reserve, the Ostend and Palm Peach Ratepayers' and Residents' Progressive Association arranged a most successful five hundred card tournament and dance in the Ostend hall and dining room of the Bay View boarding house on Saturday night. The seven-a-sido tournament cup Mas presented to the successful Waiheke Rugby football players, by the president of the Progressive Association, Mr. H. E. McGowan. There was an attendance at the function of 150 people. The successful card winners were Mr. A. Neate and Mrs. F. Brinsden. The supper arrangements were in the charge of Mrs. (4. E. Hill, Mrs. W. R. Russell, Miss J. Migan, IVlrs. A. Kerr, Mrs. A. Neate and Miss N. Brown.
