TARANAKI COLTS' TEAM MATCH AGAINST AUCKLAND The No. 3 wicket at Eden Park had dried out fairly well at the commencement of play •in the match between the North Taranaki colts and the Auckland junior representatives. Taranaki batted first and the first wicket fell at 19. A sound partnership followed, to take the score to 51, when Spedding, who had given a sound exhibition for 34, which included four boundaries and a good six, was caught in attempting a big hit. Another good partnership was that between Grant and Poole. The Auckland bowling was steady and the fielding keen, and Taranaki was all out for 133. The Taranaki bowler Giddy and Autridge kept a good length and Auckland wickets fell fast, the side being all out for 29. Following on, Auckland could not play Autridge, who was making the ball come off the wicket very sharply, and five wickets were down before a run was scored. However, H. Walters and W. Snedden made a stubborn, although slow scoring stand, and when an appeal against the light was upheld at 5.10 p.m. the pair were unbeaten with the score at six wickets for 21.- rFollowing are the scores:—North Taranaki Colts: First innings, 133 (J.
