OCEAN CONTEST AUCKLAND TO KAWAU TAINUI THE WINNER The Royal Akarana Yacht Club's race to Kawati, via Coromaiulel, for keel yachts, which started off King's Wharf at 9.11 a.m. on Friday, did not finish until Saturday. The competitors were Rainbow, Queenie, Speedwell and Tainui. Speedwell was first away, but was soon overhauled by Rainbow and later by Tainui and Queenie. Rainbow rounded the mark at Coromandel at 3 p.m., Tainui at 3h 30m 50s, and Queenie at 3h 3mii lis. Speedwell followed Queenie, but relired at this stage. EVENT TO COROMANDEL LIGHT WEATHER CONDITIONS SUCCESS OF STARLOCH The race to Coromandel for 20ft, 22ft and 26ft mullet boats, which started off King's Wharf on Friday at 0.10 a.m., resulted in a win for the 20-footer Stariorh, owned by Mr. R. McCallum. Ten boats started and, with one exception, all completed the course. The wind was very light throughout the race.
