Ellerslie to-day and the prospects of a successful gathering are bright. Tho course bonelited by the raiu that fell during the week and tho going should be excellent. The single pool system of betting will bo used with §f two dividends in fields of five or more. The top-weight Round Up is also enK aged in tho Easter Handicap, which will probably be his mission. Kilonsa lias been racing consistently well and should give a good account of herself. Solid efforts/may be expected from Gay "j ,}{ose and Master Brierly* who are in fine trim at present. Paso lJobles has reached a mark where he is not finding it easv, but Knight of Australia is fit and should run well. Shy is returning to form and should bo all the better for his racing at Whangarei. Light Coraedv has no recent form, but Tybalt and Malagigi are iu good heart and should run prominently. Star Artist may mak® a creditable showing although tho last little bit may find her f? wanting. The favourites may be KNIGHT OF AUSTRALIA, 1 KILONSA, . Accomplice has shown useful form in the hack class and Airam recently ran second at a mile and a-quarter at Whangarei. Aiwai is a recent winner, but has yet'to show her worth over a middle distance. Glenogil has onlv moderate form, but has left the impression that she may run on fairly well. Wildflower has creditable form to recommend her and may race prominently, Fleur d'Or is a novice. The best supported may be ICING, WILDFLOWER, AIRAM. I.29—BRIGHTON HURDLES, ' , Of £400; 2 mile* st, lb. st. lb. Erination . . 10 0 Celtic Lad . 9 13 Master Mosk 10 8 Killadar . . Recent racing has wrought improvement in Erination, who is very capable when fit. Master Musk, has had a solid - preparation and is likely to be running ob when jnanv of the others are tiring, Valpai and Sand-drift should be capable of creditable performances and Celtic Lad is an improver who ; has: •won at hip last two starts, but is said to be a, doubtful starter. Bryce Street may be reserved for the Mangere Steeplechase and M. J. Carroll may rely on Kilberis, who haa raced well at ; EUer#l»e previously. Killadar ran sec- , ond at his last start and is a possibility. Irish Comet .has no recent form. Softie who may he jn demand are ' . She has completed her preparation in good style and at her last attempt at a mile was third in the Thompson Handicap. Golden Sheila was a good second at her last start and should run a sound mile with 8.5, Bound Up is in great heart and should make a solid showing. Suleiman was fourth in the Thompson Handicap and slight improvement upon .that effort should make him difficult to beat. Llangollen is an improver who has been raoing consistently well and can be, expected to make a solid showing even though she has been sore during the weok with a bruised foot, whirling failed in the Thompson Is4ndicap, but may go better here. Xfark Shadow is capable of running a . f approver who has been racing very consistently. Tray Bit should have a chance if at his best and Valamito his performed well at a mile at Ellers- . Ilei" Francis Drake was successful at hj» last start and now that ho has returned to >vinning form will have to seriously considered. Trilliarch, High Tea, Day Wind and Prince Rangi are useful, but may not find it easy in this company. The main fancies may i 1"s iaqlude STRETTO, GOLDEN SHEILA, SULEIMAN.

over country. Neil is a reliable fencer, but a better prospect may be the improving Bryce Street, who appears to be the makings of a fine steeplechaser. Lucidus has won recently over hurdles and is in good heart. Adsum and London have performed creditably at Ellerslie in the past and Floodlight is a young jumper who should make good with experience. Count Roussillon aud Smilin'..Thru stay well and should make forward showings. Noitaro has won threo times in her last four starts and is very speedy. Bright Wings is a winner and Royevrus displayed distinct promise when he won at To Rapa. Vitement has shown useful form and Philcourt is a likely improver. Pocket Venus hris speed and Brazilian shaped encouragingly at Whangarei. Brazilian is bracketed with Milanion, who hns shown some promise, and is capable of doing better than he has done yet. Olympus made a good impression when he finished fourth at Irontham and his prospects appear bright. First Gold Money is on the upgrade, while Yaal Star and Spinning Wheel have displayed pace. Strathire has recent placed form and Balinavar is a recent winner. Fieetwind and Alyth have not shown 'their best form in their latest races, but Mon Acre arid High Sea are improvers likely to run prominently. Barrister should perform creditably and Prival, who was unlucky on the second day at Whangarei, should be in the picture. Smith) and Milanion after completing five furlongs in 1.6 2-5. Silver Glow' (P. Team) ran the last four furlongs of his work in 56 2-ss.
