GIRL GUIDE WORK
MEETING AT DEVONPORT Tho first meeting for the year of the North Shore Girl Guides' committee was held yesterday morning at tho homo of the president, Mrs. H. Corbett, of Devonport. It later took tho form of a farewell party to Mrs. W. C. Beaumont, a member of tho committee, who is leaving shortly on a visit to England. Tho past year's work was reviewed and reports from the Captain of tho Guide Pack,. Miss Nancy Robins, and from the Brown Owl, Miss Mary Gillies, were read. At tho conclusion of business, morning tea was served. Mrs. Corbett presented a bouquet of pink dahlias to Mrs. Beaumont and thanked her for her good work on tho committee. Among those present were: —Mrs. A. G. Quartley (Commissioner for Waitemata), Mrs. J. W. Aughton, Mrs. W. J. Lvon, Mrs. B. R. Brierley, Mrs. H. Ellis. Mrs. J. N. Waddell, Mrs. J. R. Spicer, Mrs. G. H. Robins (secretary), Mrs. L. Melhose, Mrs. H. H. Edwards, Mrs. E. F. Svcnsen.
