OILFIELDS DISPUTE
BRITISH NOTE PUBLISHED ACTION BY MEXICO (Received April l'>, 11.30 p.m.) MEXICO CITY, April 12 Without the specific approval of Britain, the Government of Mexico has published the text of the British Note protesting against the expropriation of the oilfields property and requesting its return. In the Note Mexico is accused of expropriating the property for political reasons "under the veil of legality, by basing its action on Labour issues." Britain requested that, eventually, the Note and the Mexican reply should be published simultaneously, but Mexico apparently wanted the last word, at least for the moment, and decided to publish its reply singly. This will probably be done shortly.
