MEMBERS' SALARIES
MOVE TO RESTORE CUT NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT Members of the New South Wales Parliament will make £i move soon to have their salaries restored to £875 a year. They were cut by the Bavin Government as a depression move in 1029 to £670. At intervals in tlio last year members have unofficially discussed the chance of getting their salary cut back. The idea has been given weight by the big win of the Stevens Administration at the recent poll. Members say the Premier was right in stating in his election speeches that the period of financial stress and emergency is over. They argue that therefore Parliamentary salaries should go back to their former level. "I have no knowledge of any snrh move by members," said the Premi«r when asked if the idea had any official support from the Government.
