RETURNED SOLDIERS
SYDNEY CELEBRATIONS ARRANGEMENTS FOR VISITORS Comprehensive arrangements have been made for the entertainment of all returned soldiers visiting Sydney for the special Anzac Day celebrations this month, according to Messrs.- C. Burton and C. 11. Stanley, members of the New South Wales branch of the Returned Soldiers' and Sailors' Imperial league of Australia, who arrived from Sydney by the Awatea yesterday Messrs. Burton and Stanley will act as escorts to the New Zealand contingent of nearly 2000 men who will leave Wellington for Sydney by the Maunganui and Monowai next Tuesday. Mr. t Stanley, who was with the First Auckland Regiment during the war, said it was anticipated that 50,000 returned men would participate in the special parade on Anzac Day. In addition to the New Zealanders, that number would include 1000 men from Victoria and 500 from Queensland. All the returned men in the New South Wales country districts were being provided with free return railway warrants, so that they could attend the celebrations, which were being held in conjunction with the 150 th anniversary programme. Arrangements for entertaining the visitors during their five days' stay in Sydney included special excursions to various districts near the city. The visitors would also be invited to attend social gatherings arranged by branches of the Returned Soldiers' and Sailors' Imperial League, and they would be 1 made honorary members of the leading golf, racing, surf, bowling and social clubs. Mr. Burton and Mr. Stanley are at tho Grand Hotel.
