SCHOOL COMMITTEES
ELECTIONS TO-NIGHT The election of school committees in the Auckland Education Board's district will be held at householders' meetings to-night. It will be the second biennial election as before the 1936 elections the term of school committees was one year. Nominations for membership closed last Wednesday, although where the average attendance at the school docs not exceed 240 there is provision for nominations to be made at the meeting of householders. Elections will not be necessary in some instances as the number of candidates is only sufficient to fill the seats. In any case where a committee is not formed, householders will be given the opportunity to elect one in three 'weeks.
