For tho second year in succession Mount Albert Grammar, by a (onsiderable margin of points, won the geiiior competition. Auckland Grammar retained the intermediate honours foi' the eighth successive year, while the school was also successful in tho junior section. in outstanding performer m the »nior sprint races was C. A. Kingston®, of Mount Albert Grammar. Kingston® won fire events, including the "throwing the discus and the putting the shot. The performance of W. Kingstone is Nearly 20 years of ago compared with Smeeton who is only 16 years. Snieeton was also second in the high jump and tan second' in his heat in the 120 jards hurdles. He refrained from contesting the final on account of an injury"to an ankle, which incidentally proved a handicap in tho high jump. Sraeeton leaped sft. Sin. at the Auckland Grammar sports. A pretty-actioned athlete, the Auckland Grammar distance runner, T. N. Hill, who is 17 years old, received a great ovation when he won tho senior gSO yards race. He breasted the tape going away and was not troubled at anf stage. Hill also won the mile contest in convincing fashion. One of Auckland's most promising boy sprinters,,K. J. McAneny, of Auckland Grammar, Avon three of the intermediate championships. His time in

the 166 yards equalled tie record and be came within 2-sa, of the record time in the 220 yards. Other good performances were given by D. P. Lambert, Technical, and C. R. Carnahan, Auckland Grammar, in the intermediate section, and J. M. Ware, Mount Albert Grammar, and P. V. Goddard, Auckland Grammar, in the junior divitinn. : :

One record was broken, the junior bigh junip, the new figures for which, <ct. llin., were set by P. V. Goddara siid J. B. Sewell. The previous height was 4ft.- lOin.. Tliree records were equalled. WESLEY COLLEGE SPORTS BREAKING OF FOUR RECORDS [FROM CITTB.OWS CORRESPONDENT] PAPAKURA, Sunday Wesley College at Paerata held its fourteenth athletic sports meeting yesterday under perfect weather conditions, there being a good attendance of parents and visitors. A fine performance was put up by T. Kingi (a Maori boy), who broke four records. In the junior open high jump ho beat A. Roberts' IP3O record of 4ft sin by l'/in; in the junior open hop, step and jump, he beat S. Andrew's 1037 record of 32ft lOin by Sin; in the 220 yds junior open, he beat A. Martin's record of 28 2-53 by 4-ss; in the junior open loug jump, ho beat H. Rogers' 1931 record of loft lln by Sin. He also equalled the record in the 100 yds junior open.
