LABOUR PARTY DANCE

FUNCTION AT POKENO An enjoyable dance was held by the Pokeno branch of the New Zealand Labour Party in the local hall on Thursday night. ' Among the guests were the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, and Mrs. Martin with their daughter and a party of friends. They were welcomed by the president, Mr. A. T. Morris, and the secretary, Mr. G. Rodgers. A brief speech was made by the Minister dealing with the party's legislation. Several novelty dances were held and were won by Miss Jessie Hastings and Mr. C. McGill, Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor, Mrs. J. Riley and Mr. A. Maruden, Miss Daphne Biddle and partner.
