WAIHI BEACH ROAD
STATE GRANT HOPED FOR [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WAIHI, Friday The Mayor of Waihi, Mr. WJ M. Wallnutt, has received advice from the Main Highways Board that it could not approve a suggestion that tho Waihi Bench Road bo declared a State highway, but that it was considering the question of granting assistance in improving the road. Ihe board also advised that the Whangamata Hoad could not be declared a State highway. Tho Public Works Department is making a survey of the \ Beach Road and will report to the ; Minister, and tho Borough Council hopes that as a result assistance will be granted.
