Ivor Novello Takes Well-Earned Rest

Ivor Novello is to leave Drury Lane for the time being (states the London Sunday Times). Having devised, written and composed three mammoth spectacles for the theatre, ho feels that he should not tax his inspiration any further at the moment. He said some time ago that ho wished to write a real Drury Lane melodrama, and when a suitable idea occurs to him he will, no doubt, carry it out. Novello's current production, "Crest of the Wave," will, when it finishes its run, be taken with the London company on a provincial tour, playing two or three weeks in each town. It is some time now since Mr. Novello appeared in the country and the word "progress" rather than "tour" would probably be needed to describe his forthcoming journey adequately.
