Glaring Hoardings
In commenting on the unsightliness of advertising hoardings throughout the country, Sir Stenson Coo\e, general secretary of the Automobile Association of Great Britain, rcr counted an amusing experience which he had while touring New Zealand With Mr. G. W. Hutchison, secretary of the Automobile Association (Auckland). They were driving through Virgin bush many miles from the nearest settlement, when they Were confronted with advertising a brand of petrol. "If / had had an axe I would have cut it down, said Sir Stenson. "As it was, my reaction was an irresistible urge to buy another brand."
