THE LATEST IN HOUSEHOLD LINEN
r FHE sales provide an excellent oppor- • 1 tunity for replenishing one's linen cupboard. Monogrammed linen is becoming fashionable again, and women, when ordering new bed linen, give orders, too, that it shall be embroidered with their monogram before delivery. White linen sheets that have coloured hems and cord stitching are attractive, so are the new pastel sheets that have a deeper toned top hem supplemented by a row of hand-erabroiderea spots in a matching colour. Tablecloths are making a strong bid for public favour again. Many are being woven in a mixture of linen thread and art silk, which gives a particularly silky Burface, with a soft sheen upon it. In silver or gold, with matching napkins, they make a delightful setting for modern table ware.
