STAINING SHOES A DIFFERENT COLOUR
|T\/"HEN staining shoes a different colour, first wash them thoroughly in warm water with soft soap to remove all grease and old polish Dry them by rubbing with a soft cloth. Then put them on trees in a warm but not hot place. Put on the stain with a pad of cotton wool, working it in with a circular movement. Work as quickly as you can or you may get a streaky effect. Leave them to dry and then polish in the ordinary way. It is wise to protect your fingers with old' gloves when applying the stain.
