Earrings Instead Of Wedding Rings
XTOWEVER much women may cling to their wedding rings in other parts of the world, those in Mexico believe iji an occasional change, apparently, for the latest idea is for women to show Ihey are married —by earrings.
These are of a special shape, and no really fashionable woman in Mexico would be seen without her marriage
earrings to-day. The idea originally came from Central American Indians, among whom it . was an age-old custom for both married men and women to show their married status in this fashion. . , , ~ One leader of women's fashion thought the' idisa rather interesting and adopted it. Other smart women soon copied her example until the jewellers in those parts are kept as i busy making earrings as hitherto they were making wedding rings. In addition, women are persuading their husbands to wear earrings of tho sani e peculiar design, indicating that they are married.
