The tenth of the series of "garden" books by Marion Cran, "The Garden Beyond", fully upholds the standard set by the previous volumes, all of which have an unusual and personal quality giving the impression that the writer is taking her readers completely into her confidence.
In the present work the author journeys far afield to the highlands of Rhodesia and to different types of gardens from those of lovely Kent. The book avoids any suggestion of sentimentality—although the reason for the journey is a tragic one—and assisted by its many humorous touches should have a wide appeal.
