HIGH ADVENTURE

RICHARD FINDLAY'S TALENT Adventures on land, at sea and in the air are described with vjgour and marked ability in a volume of short •stories by Richard Findlay. Mr. Findlay held a commission for a number of years in the Royal Air Force and later travelled widely in Europe. There is not a story in the book that fails to grip the reader's attention by its presentation of authentic detail. Two stories in particular—a breathlessly exciting account of a horse race and a vivid sketch of ,a bull-fight—-stand out in a book that could hardly fail to please. There is nothing very profound in Mr. Findlay's themes: his stories are not masterpieces of literature. but it is a refreshing and enjoyable experience to discover an author who writes a story of merit that is neither sordid nor obscure. "Quest" and other stories, by Richard Findlay. (Murray).
