POWER BOARD OFFICES
BUILDING AT DARGAVILLE TENDER FOR £3975 ACCEPTED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] DARGAVILLE, Friday Tenders for the construction of the North Aucklaud Electric-Power Board's new offices on the corner of Norman by Street and Pouto Street, Dargaville, were considered at the monthly meeting of the board. Tho estimate of the board's architect, Mr. A. P. Morgan, of Whangarei, of the cost of the work was £3900.
Tw» tenders were received, one from Mr. G. H. Bartlett, of Dargaville, whose price was £3975, and one from Mr. B. G. Smith, of Dargaville, for £4099 lis. Mr. Bartlett's tender was accepted.
CAMBRIDGE WORKS NEGOTIATIONS FOR MONEY [FROM OUR OWiN CORRESPONDENT] CAMBRIDGE. Friday The Cambridge Power Board received a letter from the Bank of New Zealand that it would advance money on overdraft pending the loan which the board desires for capital works becoming available. The State Advances Corporation informed the board that it would be prepared to take up £6OOO of the board's loan debentures at 3£ per cent for a 10-vear period, repayable on the amortisation table of 20 years. It was decided to defer the matter until the amortisation table was received.
